Education Support Professionals: Supporting Students at Times of Crisis

Crisis is common in the lives of students, whether involving a student’s family or school community. These crises can cause short- and long-term effects on the psychological functioning, emotional adjustment, health, and developmental trajectory of children. ESP play a vital role in supporting students through individual interaction and through their impact on school climate. Part of NEA’s Whole Student, Whole School, Whole Community Scholars Series, this webinar will provide practical suggestions on how to identify common adjustment difficulties in children in the aftermath of a crisis and to promote effective coping strategies to reduce the impact of the crisis.
